How reliable is PerfectPark™

PerfectPark™ is the name we use in the United States for the system known as TreviPark in Italy. The very first system was installed in 1991 and there have been approximately one installed each year in Italy. There have been literally millions of parking operations or cycles of the system. The systems have proven extremely reliable and extensive data is available

Why have I never heard of PerfectPark™ before

Automated Parking Systems have been around in Asia and Europe for many years. In Italy, Trevi S.p.a. have been installing this system for nearly 20 years. This is a specialist system and is not suitable for every application. However, it is ideally suited for space constrained developments and was designed out of the need to provide parking in medieval Italian cities that evolved long before modern vehicles. PerfectPark™ now brings this tried and tested system to the U.S.

How much does it cost to construct

Each development will have its own problems and must be looked at individually from a cost standpoint. The very fact that you are considering this solution probably means that you have a problem development. We can provide parking in a footprint that cannot be done with traditional underground techniques. To provide traditional parking you are going to require more space. If you have, say, 4 times the space required by our system your traditional underground will be comparable. The cost benefits get significantly higher for traditional as the footprint decreases until it becomes impossible. As a guide, we will be about 50% cheaper at around 12,000 sq ft footprint and comparable at around 20,000 sq ft. Please contact us for more details.

How much does it cost to operate

PerfectPark™ Systems have been in operation for nearly 20 years and have an excellent track record of reliability and low operating costs. It is quite difficult to make a general comparison on the difference between a PerfectPark™ Robotic System and traditional underground. Much will depend on the particular development and whether the comparisons include service staff etc. The most independent method of comparison is to outline the basic costs. For example, the system is similar in nature to an elevator. The electricity running costs are very small and can be run from solar or geothermal energy sources. No lighting or HVAC is required. There are some monitoring costs and the elevator requires servicing. You will have your own ideas about the operating costs of your specific project but it is very likely that your traditional underground operating costs will be greater.

Is it difficult to construct a PerfectPark™ System

Not for an experienced contractor. Construction is done with secant piles and no requirement for tie backs. A steel structure is built in the concrete silo and finally the elevator is installed. There is nothing unusual about the construction process that an experienced contractor cannot handle. Of course, the designers of the system, Trevi S.p.a. are one of the world's foremost civil engineering experts but every state in the country has numerous contractors that can handle your install. What about maintenance

Regular maintenance is required for any mechanical system and PerfectPark™ is no different. The "car elevator" has redundancy built in and has proven to be extremely reliable. PerfectPark™ will provide you with referrals for the maintenance of your system.

What are LEED Points and why do they matter

LEED is an acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design which is a third party certification program operated by the U.S. Green building council. LEED certification is a points based system where a development can achieve increasing levels of LEED certification. Please check with your city and state on their LEED requirements for new developments. PerfectPark™ Systems qualify for LEED points and we are happy to discuss this in more detail.

How long does it take to construct

We all know that when it comes to underground construction, there are many variables to slow down progress. The highly functional nature of the PerfectPark™ System lends itself to many parking applications and each one needs to be individually assessed. However, in regular ground conditions and in a space constrained site, we believe that savings in construction time is of the order of 35%. We have nearly a century of experience as major contractors in the United States to assist you.

Will PerfectPark™ fit all types of vehicles

Not all vehicles will fit in the PerfectPark™ System. Our evaluation of current US models has identified around 10% of models that are unsuitable. Depending on your particular development, there will be a requirement for some additional parking for maintenance vehicles and vehicles too large for the system. Please ask for a list of models that will not fit in the system. The first 4 levels of the system have larger bays that fit most SUVs. Regular cars can be accommodated on all levels.

Can PerfectPark™ be built above ground

Yes, there are examples in existence of above ground systems. The system is suitable for both above and below ground parking or a combination of both. Most systems are underground and this is where we offer the most value.
